PARENT BOARD MEETING
There will be a Parent Board
Meeting on Sunday, January 6th at 6:00 PM in the basement aof Wilton
City Hall.
TIMERS FOR JANUARY 5th SWIM
MEET
We need timers for the swim meet
on Saturday, January 5th in Muscatine. Please sign up at the pool or contact
Peggy Creamer via e-mail .
IOWA GAMES REGISTRATION DEADLINE
Don't forget to get your
registration completed for the Iowa Games if you plan on going. The
last day to register online is Monday, January 7th.
TEAM PICTURES
If you ordered team pictures and
have not received them, they should be at the pool for you to pick up. |

CHRISTMAS
BREAK PRACTICE
SCHEDULE
There
will be NO
swim practice on December 24 and December 31. Merry Christmas and
Happy New Year!
There WILL
be swim practice at 10:00 AM on December 26, December
28 and January 2. Normal practice schedule will resume on
January 3, 2008.
SWIM
MEET TIMERS
Don't
forget: we need timers for the meet on Saturday, December 15. There
is a sign-up sheet at the pool.
TEAM
PICTURES
Team
picutures will be taken on Monday, December 17th. If you have
a team suit, bring it that day. Individual pictures will be taken
that day, too, but you are not obligated to buy. Even if you do not
plan on purchasing team or individual pictures, please have your
swimmer there for the team pictures. The Wilton swimmers will start
taking individual pictures as soon as school is out. Durant and
Tipton swimmers will have their individual pictures taken as soon as
they arrive. Practice will continue as normal after the team picture
has been taken.
TEAM
CHRISTMAS PARTY
The
Parent's Board will be hosting a small Christmas party for the
Wavemakers on Friday, December 21st right after practice.

SWIM
MEET TIMERS
Just
a quick reminder to everyone to sign up to be a timer during the
swim meet on Saturday. Remember, if we all do our part, it really
won't be that bad. For those of you who are new to timing, don't
worry, you will get instructions on how to time at the meet. Thanks
in advance for your help!

IOWA GAMES HOTEL RESERVATIONS
For
anyone interested in participating in the Iowa Games on January 25th
and 26th, you can make reservations at the Comfort
Inn in Dubuque located at 4055 McDonald Drive.
A block of rooms have been reserved under the name of WAVEMAKERS.
There are a few double queen size rooms and the rest are king size
rooms. The
block of rooms will be held until December 18, so make your
reservations early by calling 563-556-3006.
STATE
SWIM MEET HOTEL RESERVATIONS
A
block of rooms have been reserved for the Boys and Girls State Swim
Meet for Friday, February 29 and Saturday March 1 at the Best
Western in Marshalltown.
We have 15 rooms for $89.00 per night with one king size bed in each
room. Unfortunately this is all we could find during this busy time. Call
641-752-6321 to make your reservations. They are being held under
the name of WILTON WAVEMAKERS.

SWIM TEAM
DUES
Swim team dues are
to be paid by Monday, November 5th. The team dues are
required regardless of whether or not the swimmer chooses to compete.
The dues are $85 for the season. Additionally, if a swimmer chooses
to compete in the meets, YMCA membership is required. You can contact the
Muscatine Community YMCA to get signed up. There are no
additional meet entry fees, nor are there admission fees for parents
and spectators to attend the meets. The YMCA membership must be
paid before swimmers
can participate in any meets.

ACTION ACCENTS FUND RAISER
On Monday, October 22 and Wednesday,
October 24 we will have swim supplies and equipment from Action
Accents at the pool. Practice suits, goggles, goggle straps (bungee
cords), warm-ups, and other items will be available for purchase.
Remember, this is a money maker for the team so if you need any
supplies wait and buy them from Action Accents. A percentage of all
sales are returned to the team.STROKE
CLINIC - OCTOBER 22, 24, 26
The Wavemakers will be holding a
Stroke Clinic on October 22, 24, and 26 (Mon, Wed, Fri). This clinic
will include all strokes, techniques, and an introduction to the
drills. This will be a great way to get the kinks out!
REGULAR PRACTICES TO BEGIN OCTOBER

The regular practice schedule for
the Wavemakers will begin on Monday, October 29 and will be held at
the Wilton Pool.

The
Wavemakers is a non-profit swim team with swimmers from the ages of 6
to 18 from Wilton, Durant and the surrounding area. They are a
satellite program of the Muscatine YMCA swim club. The Wavemakers
compete in the YMCA winter swim meet competitions, most of which are
held at the Carver Pool Complex at the Muscatine High School. The
meets are held on Saturday mornings beginning December 3rd. The
Wavemakers practice at the Wilton swimming pool on Monday, Wednesday,
and Friday's. The Wavemakers also hold a 1-hour parents meeting on
the first Sunday of the month during the swim season. This meeting is
open to all parents to make decisions as the season progresses. If
you are new to the area or interested in having a great time and your
kids becoming a part of the Wavemakers contact Dave via Email.
